Cheryl

Client Accounts

Cheryl is Bermudian and began working at Ettrick in 1989 when it was a small, one vet practice and under different ownership. When Dr Andrew Madeiros purchased the hospital in 2000, as a valuable member of staff, Cheryl decided to stay. She has worked in various roles including reception, kennels and nursing. She then took on the role of client accounts over 20 years ago. Cheryl assists the practice manager in ensuring that all client accounts are maintained to a high standard. Cheryl greatly enjoys getting to know clients and their animals and although she may not see them on a regular basis, she knows all clients and their pets by name. When she is not at work, Cheryl enjoys travelling, gardening and spending time with her nieces and nephews. At home Cheryl and her husband have a busy home with two dogs, two cats, a chicken and a 26 year old cockatiel that she hand reared from 3 days old.

Lora

Reception

Lora was born and raised in Bermuda and has always had a love for animals. Lora has been a great support for Ettrick, working between our boarding kennels and front desk. Knowing she wanted to be more hands on and involved with the training aspect of our furry friends, she pursued and gained a certificate in training and behaviour. Lora is now a permanent member of our Front Desk team and enjoys welcoming both the clients and their pets as well as being our ambassador for boarding enquiries and reservations. Outside of work Lora loves spending time with her three fur-babies; Gingersnap, Clause and Tourmaline

Taiese

Reception

Taiese is an aspiring veterinarian who’s had a passion for animals for as long as she can remember. She was born in Houston Texas but has lived most of her life in Bermuda as her family originates from here. She cares deeply about the well-being of animals and those around her so of course, as you can imagine, she was ecstatic when she found out that she had gotten the opportunity to work here at Ettrick. She instantly felt as if she fit right in and has been able to make meaningful and lasting connections with the staff and customers. She is so grateful to know that she can wake up everyday and get to do the things that she loves. Furthermore, she loves to be out in nature and tries her best to be eco-friendly because she believes that this earth is the only home we have and we should cherish it while we can. In her spare time, when she’s not frolicking in nature, she loves to read, hang out with the ones she loves, and watch horror movies!

Melissa

Reception

Melissa was born and raised in Bermuda and has had a passion for animals from a young age. She is a former equestrian and volunteered for many charitable organizations over the years, including the SPCA and Windreach. She has worked in customer service and administration for most of her career and is thrilled for the opportunity to work with people and animals, since joining the Ettrick team in April 2024. She believes in rescue with having two adopted pets of her own. She is also a wife and mother and in her free time enjoys walking, creative arts and golf, at times!
